Services
Among the over 20,000 items in the collection, Hughesville Area
Public Library has a print collection including fiction, westerns,
mysteries, biographies, reference and non-fiction.
The Large Type book collection
covers fiction, mystery, westerns, non-fiction, and biographies. There
is a significant collection of audio books on CDs and cassettes. Movies
on video cassette and DVDs for both adults and children are being added
periodically.
In addition, there is a collection of videos, DVDs, audio books on
cassette and CD which changes monthly as it rotates between libraries.
The library subscribes to numerous magazines that may be borrowed.
Most titles are kept for two years for research.
Local weekly newspapers are available for your reading, along with
the daily paper.
Reference Services: A collection of reference materials and
magazines
for in-library research are found in the Reference Department.
Special collections include local history and microfilms of
“The Hughesville Mail” newspaper
Library Cards: There is no
charge to check out items with your library card.
It is also free to obtain a library card if you live in Lycoming
County and never had one before. If you have lost your library card,
a small fee of $2 will get you a replacement.
If you are from out of the county and have a library card from another
Pennsylvania
library, you can receive a complimentary card for use in our library.
Other Services Available:
Copies may be made for 20 cents per page.
There is a FAX machine to send or receive. Cost is $1.00 per
sheet sent, 20 cents
per received sheet.
The Community Room is available for use by non-profit groups.

on Community Room use.
Van Service among the county's public libraries allows you to
return books borrowed from another library and to receive books
requested from any other library in the county.
Videos, DVDs and CDs must be returned to the library where the
item was borrowed.
